Jeffrey Rolling Over

Jeffrey started rolling over in the past couple weeks and I finally caught it with my camera, so the filming quality is not the best, but here is the evidence!

Summer! . . .so far!

This summer we of course had to start it off in McCall at my parents cabin. It was Jeffrey's first trip to McCall and also in his Bumbo chair. He evidently did not enjoy it at first but now he enjoys sitting in it. Unfortunately it was bad weather in McCall so Jeffrey did not venture outside at all.
Jeffrey loves his aunt Annie!

Once the weather became sunny Jeffrey started venturing out more. I love this picture!

I recently purchased the three Ninnja Turtle movies, a definate must in my opinion. If you don't know my past history with the Ninja Turtles, maybe someday I will share that tidbit from my childhood later! :) Jeffrey also had to sport his Turtle Power onesie (thanks Heidi!) when we watched them together. I maybe biased, but I am sure he loved them!

Jeffrey's first swim! He actually enjoyed it, even if his face says otherwise!

Happy Fathers Day! For Grandpa Hughes all of the grandkids took pictures that we put together so it said We love Grandpa! Jeff evidently was the "love" picture! I cannot take credit for the idea, so thanks Carly and Abby!

3 Months Old!

Jeffrey is 3 months old! I cannot believe it! He has now moved up to 3-6 month clothing, and I have to admit I almost cried when I was putting his 0-3 month clothing away. But he is starting to smile more!
Can you say double chin?! :)

My Rocking Chair

A few people have been asking about the rocking chair that Grant made me for Christmas, so here it is. The wood is ambrosia maple (wormy soft maple). It is a Maloof style rocking chair that is 100% hand shaped with no right angles which makes all the pieces flow together so it looks like one piece of wood. It has the best back support EVER and Jeffrey likes to be rocked in it, especially at 3 in the morning. :) Thanks Grant for the best gift ever. I love you!

Baby Blessing

Jeffrey was blessed on May 2, 2010 , almost two months old. It was a wonderful blessing and a wonderful meeting. Thanks everyone who came! We really enjoyed everyone being there.

My family except for Steph, Ty, and Bristol who were missed while they are in Canada for the smmer. Also there were my Grandma, Aunt Jenny, and my cousins: Bre, her husband Jon and their Olivia, Scott and his wife Sarah.

Grant's family. Wish you were here Autumn! (You need to move to Idaho someday soon. :)
Jeffrey was geting hungry :)

At my parents house with my Nana, my mom's mom later that day for dinner. That's four generations right there!

Our Little Man

This was taken today. Jeffrey is 7 weeks old and officially 9 pounds! He is getting stronger and a little bit chunkier! He is learning how to keep his head up on his own and he has definately found his own voice now!
One of his talents!

Jeffrey waking up. He loves to sleep with his arms above his head.

Jeffrey meeting his cute cousin Bristol, Steph's daughter.

First outing out to the store!

Jeffrey looking tough. Thanks Aunt Autumn for the outfit!

Jeffrey's first walk on the green belt by our house.

One Month Old!

Jeffrey James is now a month old! At one month he weighted 6 lbs. 7 1/2 oz. He is getting bigger! We are enjoying having him home and beginning to get used to the new schedule. Grant is a great help and Jeff is actually a really good baby. Time is flying and I have no idea here March went!

His "arm rolls." I am waiting for the day when he actually gets some.

Easter

Jeffrey had his first Easter and received a singing stuffed duck from his Nana and Grandpa Erekson. Grant and I enjoyed General Conference; it was nice to stay at home all day and relax! I did think for about three hours that Saturday morning was Easter, but Grant informed me after Jeff and I woke him up at 8 am that it was not. Unfortunately I had all ready been celebrating with Jeff since 5 am that morning! :) Where do the days go?!

COMING HOME!

Jeff has been doing so well! Since he pulled his tube out he has been eating his whole feedings! And the great news is that he gets to come home tomorrow or Wednesday! So I need to get everything ready, so his 2nd week post might not be happening today! :)

Jeff's 1st Week!

Hooray! The wait is finally ending! Jeffrey is coming home this week, if not in a few days! Tonight he ripped his feeding tube out, and the doctor let him keep it out so now there is no feeding tube! Jeff has been doing really well today of eating his whole bottle on his own, so as long as he gains weight the next couple of days, homeward bound he is!
Here are his photos of his first week in the NICU. I wanted to document the first week of his life in photos so here are just a few of them! Tomorrow I will post the second week!

Jeffrey James Hughes on his birth day, March 7, 2010. Born five weeks early.

1 day old. He was put on the ventilator because he was not breathing well enough on his own. The gold heart helps regulate his body temperature. My niece Olive saw this picture and called the golden heart his valentine. :)

2 days old. They have him "surfing." Inside the burp cloth underneath him is a gel cool pack that helps him not get too hot under the heated light that is above him.

3 days old. The first time I see his eyes open! The third day was a big one; I got to really hold him for the first time, we got our first family portrait, and Jeff had jaundice so he had to be under special lighting to get rid of the jaundice.

4 days old. No new news, so we just played a little bit with him.

5 days old. Dad finally gets to hold his son for the first time and the ventilator is removed! A feeding tube is added in through his nose to his stomach to finally begin to eat food! Previously nutrients were just added through his IV.

6 days old. Enjoying life breathing without any assistance! He kept pulling his breathing tube that just stuck in his nose. You can see it there in front of his face. the orange tube is his feeding tube.

1 week old! Ten minutes before we got to the hospital his IV went bad. Instead of his IV putting liquids into his bloodstream, it was leaking into his arm, resulting with severe swelling from his elbow to fingertips. They had to prick holes in the back of his hand to manually drain liquid from his arm. It was sad, but he was tough and didn't complain at all except when they were pushing the liquid out of his arm.
Jeff after the horrible ordeal. He slept pretty much the rest of the day.
